Killed in action - March 2006

Sgt. Joshua V. Youmans , 26, of Flushing, MI; 1st Battalion, 125th Infantry Regiment, Saginaw, MI. Died at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, TX from injuries sustained on November 21, when a makeshift bomb exploded near his Humvee during combat operations in Habbaniyah.
Pfc. Tina M. Priest , 20, of Austin, TX; 4th Support Battalion, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division, Fort Hood, TX. Died from a non-combat related injury in Taji. The incident is under investigation.
Spc. Christopher S. Merchant , 32, of Hardwick, VT; 3rd Battalion, 172nd Infantry Regiment, Army National Guard, Jericho, VT. Killed when his Humvee came under attack by enemy forces using a vehicle-borne make-shift bomb and a rocket-propelled grenade in Ar Ramadi.
Lance Cpl. Matthew A. Snyder , 20, of Finksburg, MD; Combat Service Support Group -1, 1st Marine Logistics Group, 1st Marine Expeditionary Force, Twentynine Palms, CA. Killed in a non-combat related incident in Anbar Province.
Staff Sgt. Kevin P. Jessen , 28, of Paragould, AR; 22nd Chemical Battalion (Technical Escort), Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD. Killed when a makeshift bomb exploded during combat operations in Rawah.
Cpl Adam O. Zanutto, 26, of Caliente, CA; 3rd Battalion, 7th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, 1st Marine Expeditionary Force, Twentynine Palms, CA. Died at National Naval Medical Center, Bethesda, MD from wounds received as a result of a makeshift bomb in Anbar Province on February 25.
Gunnery Sgt. Justin R. Martone , 31, of Bedford, VA; 9th Engineer Support Battalion, 3rd Marine Logistics Group, 3rd Marine Expeditionary Force, Okinawa, Japan. Killed by makeshift bombs in Anbar Province.
Pfc. Ricky Salas , 22, of Roswell, NM; 2nd Battalion, 37th Armored Regiment, Friedberg, Germany. Killed when a makeshift bomb exploded near his military vehicle while conducting mounted operations in Mosul.
Gunnery Sgt. John D. Fry , 28, of Lorena, TX; 8th Engineer Support Battalion, 2nd Marine Logistics Group, 2nd Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Lejeune, NC. Killed by makeshift bombs in Anbar Province.
Lance Cpl. Bunny Long , 22, of Modesto, CA; Headquarters Battalion, 2nd Marine Division, 2nd Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Lejeune, NC. Killed by a suicide, vehicle-borne makeshift bomb in Anbar Province.
