Marine Cpl. Rudy Salas, 20, of Baldwin Park, Calif.; assigned to 1st Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion, 1st Marine Division, I Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Pendleton, Calif.; killed May 20 in a non-combat-related vehicle accident in Anbar province.

Marine Pfc. Michael M. Carey, 20, of Prince George, Va.; assigned to 1st Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, I Marine Expeditionary Force, at Camp Pendleton, Calif.; died May 18 after he apparently fell into a canal in Iraq and did not resurface. His body was recovered the same day.  
Army Staff Sgt. William D. Chaney, 59, of Schaumburg, Ill.; assigned to Company B, 1st Battalion, 106th Aviation Regiment, Army National Guard, Chicago; died May 18 in Landstuhl, Germany, from complications following surgery for a sudden medical condition that led to Chaney’s medical evacuation from Iraq.
Army Staff Sgt. Joseph P. Garyantes, 34, of Rehoboth, Del.; assigned to B Company, 1st Battalion, 63rd Armor Regiment, 1st Infantry Division, Vilseck, Germany; killed May 18 by sniper fire while on a combat patrol in Muqdadiyah, Iraq.
Army Cpl. Marcos O. Nolasco, 34, of Chino, Calif.; assigned to Battery B, 1st Battalion, 33rd Field Artillery, 1st Infantry Division, Bamberg, Germany; died May 18 in an electrocution accident in Baji, Iraq.
Marine Lance Cpl. Bob W. Roberts, 30, of Newport, Ore.; assigned to 1st Combat Engineer Battalion, 1st Marine Division, I Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Pendleton, Calif.; killed May 17 by hostile fire near Fallujah, Iraq.

Air Force Senior Airman Pedro I. Espaillat Jr., 20, of Columbia, Tenn.; assigned to the 4th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron, Seymour Johnson Air Force Base, N.C.; died May 15 of non-hostile injuries in Kirkuk, Iraq.
Army Staff Sgt. Rene Ledesma, 34, of Abilene, Texas; assigned to the 1st Squadron, 7th Cavalry Regiment, 1st Cavalry Division, Fort Hood, Texas; killed May 15 when an improvised explosive device exploded near his Bradley fighting vehicle in Baghdad.
Army Command Sgt. Maj. Edward C. Barnhill, 50, of Shreveport, La.; assigned to the 431st Civil Affairs Battalion, Army Reserve, North Little Rock, Ark.; died of a heart attack May 14 in Baghdad.  
Army Sgt. Brud J. Cronkrite, 22, of Spring Valley, Calif.; assigned to the 1st Battalion, 37th Armor, 1st Armored Division, Friedberg, Germany; died on May 14 in Baghdad from injuries he sustained on May 13 when a rocket-propelled grenade was fired into a nearby building while he was on security patrol in Karbala, Iraq.  
Army Sgt. James W. Harlan, 44, of Owensboro, Ky.; assigned to the 660th Transportation Company, 88th Regional Readiness Command, Army Reserve, based at Zanesville, Ohio; killed May 14 when a suicide bomber detonated a car bomb next to his vehicle at Camp Anaconda, Iraq.
Army Pfc. Michelangelo A. Mora, 19, of Arroyo Grande, Calif.; assigned to the 3rd Squadron, 2nd Armored Cavalry Regiment, 1st Cavalry Division, Fort Polk, La.; killed May 14 when his vehicle slid off the road and turned over in Najaf, Iraq.
Army Spc. Philip I. Spakosky, 25, of Browns Mill, N.J.; assigned to the 1st Battalion, 37th Armor, 1st Armored Division, Friedberg, Germany; died May 14 in Baghdad of injuries sustained on May 13 when he was shot by a suspected sniper in Karbala, Iraq.

Army Sgt. Rodney A. Murray, 28, of Ayden, N.C.; assigned to the 351st Military Police Company, Army Reserve, Ocala, Fla.; killed May 9 when a Bradley Fighting Vehicle and his military vehicle collided between Baghdad and Scania, Iraq.
Army Spc. Philip D. Brown, 21, of Jamestown, N.D.; assigned to Company B, 141st Engineer Combat Battalion, Army National Guard, Jamestown, N.D.; died May 8 in Balad, Iraq, from injuries sustained when an improvised explosive device went off west of Samarra, Iraq.
Army Spc. James J. Holmes, 28, of East Grand Forks, Minn.; assigned to C Company, 141st Engineer Combat Battalion, North Dakota National Guard, Hettinger, N.D.; died May 8 in Landstuhl, Germany, from injuries sustained on May 3 when an improvised explosive device detonated near the driver side of his military vehicle in Iraq.
Army Spc. Isela Rubalcava, 25, of El Paso, Texas; assigned to the 296th Combat Support Battalion, 3rd Brigade, 2nd Infantry Division (Stryker Brigade Combat Team), Fort Lewis, Wash.; killed May 8 when a mortar round hit nearby in Mosul, Iraq.

Army Staff Sgt. Hesley Box Jr., 24, of Nashville, Ark.; assigned to 1st Battalion, 153rd Infantry, 39th Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division, Arkansas National Guard, Texarkana, Ark.; killed May 6 when a car bomb detonated near his guard post in Baghdad.
Marine Cpl. Dustin H. Schrage, 20, of Brevard, Fla.; assigned to 2nd Battalion, 4th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, I Marine Expeditionary Force, at Camp Pendleton, Calif.; found dead on May 6 in Anbar province, Iraq. The cause of death is under investigation.

Marine Cpl. Jeffrey G. Green, 20, of Dallas; assigned to 2nd Battalion, 4th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, I Marine Expeditionary Force, at Camp Pendleton, Calif.; found dead in the Euphrates River on May 5 in Anbar province, Iraq. The cause is under investigation.
